I recently went to a renaissance faire in Florence, Alabama. I had a good time dressing as my alter ego, Shipwreck. It was similar to the one in Atlanta Georgia, only much smaller. It’s kind of like a big costume party, if you will. It is interesting to see the many different costumes that people wear, and how elaborate they can get. For example there was an antler man, a troll, and statue, and several other crazy ideas.
I met a few other pirate characters as well. The experience itself is fun to me, kind of like going to a big carnival. It is interesting to see how today’s culture views the renaissance age, especially the way they dressed and the things they did.
